Need to borrow a GPS!

Postby Fell Fiend » Wed Jun 17, 2015 2:46 pm

Does anyone have a GPS device (need to be able to upload a .gpx file to it) which I could borrow for the weekend of 27th/28th June?

The catch is that I need something with a battery life of 24-30hrs. It would be ace if it was wrist or handlebar mountable - but I also have an attachable pocket for my rucksack strap which takes phone sized devices so that could work too for the usual hand held type GPS's.

I know it's a big ask but i'd be very grateful if anyone can help. I promise i'll look after it.

Thanks

Dave

Dave

I have a Suunto Ambit2 which I am happy for you to borrow. I did offer it to Ben Shep the same weekend for the lakes ultra 110K he was doing but he didn't say yes or no and he had other offers of devices. Its a watch but has handle bar mount too.

It has 50 hour battery life, watcha doing?

Dan, sorry for not saying. I have taken Steve Newell up on his kind offer to borrow his garmin 910xt purely because I am familiar with Garmin but not Suunto and thought it would be easier for me to upload to my garmin connect. thanks for the offer. I'm sure it will be great for Dave to use.

what's the event Dave?

Brilliant, thanks Dan. That will make life a whole lot easier :o)

I've put my name down for the Yorkshire Dales 300, a 300km self supported mountain bike event.
