Hi Harriers,
Hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and here’s to a great New Year, filled with lots of running!

It’s time to put forward your nomination(s) for the Harrier of the Month for December, both for running and volunteering. Have a look and put forward the name(s) of those who have impressed you with their running and/or with their contribution to the club. You can nominate either here on Facebook or by email to homnom@ilkleyharriers.org.uk. Please let us know your nominations prior to the next committee meeting on Tuesday 2nd January.

There are lots of impressive race results this month; Jack Wood winning the Myerscough 10 in an impressive 53:54 and coming 4th at the Boxing Day Chevin Chase, Pauline Munro 3rd lady at the Chevin Chase and Nathan Edmondson taking 5th place in the Stoop and 8th place at the Chevin Chase.

Lots of great performances at the cross countries too; Jack Wood taking 8th place in the men’s race at the WYXC ( #4 in Keighley) and Pauline Munro taking 6th place in the ladies race at the same event. At the PECO cross country Ellie Kitchen took 15th place in the ladies race and Nicola Budding also deserves a mention for her great run, being a relative newcomer to the racing (and cross country) scene.

Lots of great Parkrun results in December too; Nina Pearce 1st lady at Harrogate Parkrun in a time of 20:42, Matt Newell 1st at Skipton Parkrun in a time of 17:17, Sarah Pickering 2nd lady at Carlisle Parkrun, Rob Cunningham taking 3rd place at Druridge Bay Parkrun and Will Wood coming 5th in the Woodhouse Moor Parkrun. Lots of park runners out on Christmas Day too with 5 Ilkley Harriers coming in the top 20 at the Skipton Parkrun; Dominic Coy 2nd, Ruaridh Mon-Williams 5th , Rob Cunningham 10th, Mark Mon-Williams 11th and Stephen Coy 14th.

This list is by no means exhaustive and I am sure you have been impressed by others who do not appear in this summary. Also, the Ribble Valley 10km is on New Year’s Eve so don’t forget to check the results from this in case in contains a potential nominee!
Look forward to receiving your nominations!
Many thanks.
