ILKLEY HARRIER of The Month
The Harrier of the Month award is decided by the Ilkley Harriers committee, and is generally based on racing achievements, commitment to training, and contribution to Club. From September 2008, two awards are made each month. See below for more details on how it works and how to nominate someone, and the Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Archive : previous years' awards
How does it work?
- Any member of Ilkley Harriers may nominate any other member; any member of Ilkley Harriers may nominate more than one other member each month; you may not nominate yourself
- A nomination may be made for athletic performance, improvement, or voluntary effort for the Club
- Only first claim members competing for Ilkley Harriers may be nominated for performance awards
- The achievement recognised must be in the calendar month for which the nomination is made (exceptionally, if the awards are decided at an 'early' Committee meeting before the end of the month, achievements in the remaining days of that month may be recognised in the awards for that following month)
- The nomination should clearly identify the person and their achievement
- The nominations for the month just past are read out at the Committee Meeting at the start of the next month
- All those present (not just Committee members) may vote to determine the recipient of the award
- There are two rounds of votes, for two awards, with everyone present entitled to vote both times
- There is no rule that one of the awards must be for performance and one for voluntary effort
- There is no rule that a person may not be awarded HoM more than once in a year
- Additionally, and occasionally, the Committee may recognise an 'Outstanding Performance' with an award additional to HoM as below.
- The winners are presented with their awards on the Tuesday night after the Committee meeting, and the results are published publicly after that

How to nominate someone
- You need to state who you are nominating and what their achievement was
- Look for a 'Harrier of the Month' thread for that month on the Club Forum: start one in the 'Club' area or reply to an existing HoM thread for that month, OR ...
- Email your nomination to homnom@ilkleyharriers.org.uk (this will forward it on) and your nomination will be posted on the forum for you (say if you'd prefer to remain anonymous), OR ...
- Look out for the 'HoM Nominations' box at Tuesday nights towards the end of the month, OR ...
- Come along to a Committee Meeting and nominate or even vote for the Harriers of the Month
2010 Outstanding Achievement Awards
From time to time the Committee makes this award to recognise an achievement that exceeds even the criteria for the Ilkley Harrier of the Month Award. This Award is not automatically given for breaking Club records, it is only given where the achievement has a real 'wow' factor. This award was instituted in September 2008.
