The Ilkley Moor fell race was the first race that Ilkley Harriers offered junior races at, in February 2003. In 2009, 160 juniors raced around the courses, however the weather cut that number in half in 2010. 80 brave juniors from U8 to U16 raced around the challenging snowy courses. Not surprisingly in the conditions there were no new course records, however Kristain Edwards of Tamworth AC ran within 22 secs of the U16 record that has stood since 2005 and given the conditions this was an exceptional run. So very well done to everyone who raced and managed to say on their feet (most of the time) and hopefully we'll see you back again next year. There is one correction to the results as announced at the prizegiving for U10 girls. The winner was Alex Baker (Pendle), 2nd Bethan Morley (Ilkley) and 3rd Zanya Moore (Calder Valley). As everyone who attended received a prize I hope that this is OK.
Elizabeth would like to thank everyone who brought cakes and buns to be sold and to all those who who bought them as well. She raised £148 and we donated (on your behalf) 78 miles which was the junior combined mileage to the fund raising efforts.
