About the ILKLEY HARRIERS web site

The Ilkley Harriers site was originally created in 1999 by, and is still maintained by me, Ilkley Harrier Paul Wood.

It is just one of many channels of communication for Ilkley Harriers, but with over 200 'visits' a day it is the busiest!

The web site is normally updated late on a Sunday or Monday evening (but often more often ...). The Home Page with the latest news is the hottest, and often highlights changes on other pages.

The web site aims to keep Ilkley Harriers up to date with news, photos, etc.; as well as to tell prospective new members, and anyone else who's interested, something about the club.

This is an edited site. For example, if someone hated something about an event and is a tad too negative in their email report, that may just be toned down a bit for the 'greater good'.

This site's general tech design 'philosophy' is:

• keep things simple so that most Browsers and settings work;
  I use Safari on a Mac and Google Chrome under Windows 7, but I try to use an approach that should look OK on other setups (if it looks horrid on your PC, let me know).
• try to make it look interesting, so there's a sprinkling of colour and images.
• NB the site mainly uses plain HTML in PHP pages, so you may sometimes need to refresh pages to avoid seeing old cached versions.
• My photos are an important part of this site. Please don't use them without the subject's permission - see my copyright notice.

This site (like many others) uses cookies (small temporary files) to store information on your computer. There is nothing sinister here: we use cookies for two purposes only:

• We use Google Analytics to track use of the web site (just the same as many other web sites). Google Analytics uses cookies.
• Our forums system uses cookies to record whether you are logged on etc.
